a day makes. I feel a lot zippier and no there isn't much sun around but plenty of heavy rain showers and wind though. One difference is that all three kiddos went to school, a minor miracle with T as she is really not liking school at the moment, which really gives me a sinking feeling. So today the downstairs got a tidy and hoover and then my friend J joined me for lunch and a natter. Lovely to catch up as ever and momentous day I finally told her about my blog. I have been very shy about revealing my blog. I think I was hoping that it would be full of funny moments, insightful comments on life/politics and just recently having admired some beautiful creative blogs I was hoping to show off a beautiful house/gorgeous makes/gorgeous stuff. Perhaps I ought to go and take some snaps of JB's house to show off as mine as hers is so tidy and gorgeous despite having a baby. Anyway she'll be having a look see later on when I email her the address. And also I am going to delurk and add comments to people's blogs, although I have an urge to avoid sounding unctuous and too 'fluffy'. And perhaps my natural reserve makes me sound a bit unenthusiastic about things - I find gushing a bit much.
One of the things I often whinge about is that I have no time to myself which is not so true nowadays as actually I get at least 2.5 hours a day currently and possibly more, it's just that I can't really do very much in that time. Current plans include going swimming once a week in addition to housework. But going on a course at a local college is simply impossible as I don't want to pay for a childminder and evenings are out thanks to Michael's long hours and commute. I have been looking at crochet lessons and it seems hard to commit to 3 Saturdays in a row which eats into our family time. Even though that would avoid any childcare problems. One Saturday would be no problem but 3 seems too much. It's just that I really want to learn to crochet but I am not sure how much I really want to iyswim. I bought a book on crochet jumpers which really inspired me and I was also inspired by this blog, and purchased some wool and a crochet hook at the weekend. I had a go following some instructions, just one big knot, so I then turned to the internet which was rather more helpful and I started chain stitch with 2 hands but still couldn't work out how to use the hook, finally cracked chain stitch with the hook. But starting a 2nd row is just beyond me and to make any progress I really need a real life very patient person to show me. This is where paying more attention to my grannies when they were in their crocheting heydays would have been very beneficial.
But in the meantime well since Sunday, I have been a busy bee with 2 needles, will reveal all when project completed.
